Please begin your screening and testing with the Preop Clinic directly after agreeing to your procedure.
We provide drop-in visits between 8:30a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday (except holidays). Our last EKG capability is at 4:15 p.m.
If unable to visit us following your surgeon appointment, please drop in the following day.
We are located on the first floor of the Blue area of the hospital, at the base of the escalator.
While you are in Preop Clinic, you will complete the Anesthesia Screening Assessment Tool.
Your preoperative testing and any necessary consultations with specialists are planned and prioritized with this tool.
In addition, this tool helps us prepare you safely for anesthesia and screen for problems such as elevated blood sugar and obstructive sleep apnea.
To ensure that all members of your care team are aware of all your medications and supplements, including herbal medications, please make sure you bring your current and complete list to Preop Clinic.
Please consult your surgeon regarding aspirin, any non-steroidal anti- inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and blood thinners. These medications may need to be stopped prior to surgery.
Your anesthesia screening assessment form will be reviewed by one of our Preop Clinic Nurse Practitioners to determine if any additional testing is needed.
If you have questions, the Preop Clinic phone number is 425.899.2706.
Depending on your surgery, what you need to do to prepare for surgery may vary. Closely following the instructions given to you, however, will help ensure the best possible outcome and reduce the chance of complications.
