EvergreenHealth Honored As An Award-Winning Hospital For Organ Donation

LifeCenter Northwest recognizes top-performing hospitals for their dedication to supporting organ donation and transplantation

KIRKLAND, WA—  LifeCenter Northwest has recognized EvergreenHealth Medical Center as a top-performing hospital for organ donations in its recently released 2025 Annual Report. EvergreenHealth helped facilitate 19 organ and tissue donations in 2025.

LifeCenter serves a four-state area encompassing more than 230 hospitals. EvergreenHealth earned top marks among those hospitals with three achievement awards:

Collaborative Family Support

Collaboration between hospital staff and LifeCenter Northwest is essential for successful organ donation. EvergreenHealth earned a collaborative request rate of 100%, which means the hospital staff worked closely with patient families for every donation opportunity. This effort ensures everyone involved is informed and prepared for conversations about organ donation. EvergreenHealth excels in compassionate and collaborative planning for family connection with the organ donation process.

EvergreenHealth was one of just 15 hospitals to earn this award.

Honoring Donor Decisions

This award recognizes hospitals that honor 100% of patients' legally binding organ donation decisions. The choice to become an organ donor is an intensely personal one, and EvergreenHealth and LifeCenter Northwest share the responsibility to act on the individual's donation decision.
EvergreenHealth was one of 39 hospitals to earn this recognition.

Organ Donation Process Excellence

This award recognizes hospitals with a process error rate of 5% or less. One of the most critical steps in the organ donation process is preserving the donation opportunity until LifeCenter has completed their evaluation. Maintaining a low process error rate is incredibly challenging and requires a strong commitment across hospital services and staff.

EvergreenHealth was one of 34 hospitals to earn this honor across LifeCenter Northwest's four-state service area.

In 2025, LifeCenter Northwest supported 446 organ donors who donated 1,318 organs for life-saving transplants. Of those, six transplant procedures were facilitated and performed at EvergreenHealth.
