EvergreenHealth Welcomes New Executive Director of Cancer Services

Jesse Kasten, MHA, brings more than a decade of local medical leadership experience to the role.

KIRKLAND, Wash.— EvergreenHealth is pleased to announce Jesse Kasten, MHA, as the new Executive Director of Cancer Services, overseeing radiation oncology, cancer support services and the hospital system's partnership with Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center.

Kasten's role in supporting the delivery of oncology services across EvergreenHealth is being facilitated through the hospital system's partnership with Fred Hutch Cancer Center. This partnership provides Fred Hutch Cancer Center's medical oncology services at EvergreenHealth's Kirkland campus.

Kasten brings 15 years of oncology and service line leadership to the role, sharing EvergreenHealth's deep commitment to advancing patient-centered care and clinical excellence. Prior to joining EvergreenHealth, Kasten led groundbreaking research in prostate cancer for the U.S. Veterans Administration (VA), leading the Precision Oncology Program for Cancer of the Prostate Network across the U.S.

Before his work with the VA, Kasten served as the Executive Division Director of Women's & Children's Services for CHI Franciscan facilities across Washington state. There, he oversaw gynecology, urogynecology and gyn-oncology while also leading six birth centers, helping achieve Baby Friendly Hospital designation at two hospitals. He also managed gastrointestinal/genitourinary oncology at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, now Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center.

Kasten earned his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology from Western Washington University, his Master of Arts in Sports Management from the University of the Pacific, and his Master of Health Administration from the University of Washington.
