EvergreenHealth Medical Center Among Top 1% of Nation's Hospitals For 5th Consecutive Year
EvergreenHealth Medical Center is the only hospital in Washington state to receive the award for 2025.
KIRKLAND, Wash.— EvergreenHealth Medical Center Kirkland has been named one of America's 50 Best Hospitals for 2025 by Healthgrades, the #1 site Americans use when searching for a doctor or hospital. As a result of its consistently superior patient care, EvergreenHealth Medical Center Kirkland has attained the highest achievement Healthgrades offers, placing the organization in the top 1% of U.S. hospitals for overall care excellence for five consecutive years (2021-2025). EvergreenHealth Medical Center Kirkland is the only hospital in the State of Washington to receive the award.
"We are honored to be named among the top 1% of hospitals in the nation once again," said Ettore Palazzo, MD, FACP, CEO of EvergreenHealth. "This reflects the commitment of teams across our health system to continue to strive for excellence at every point of delivering EvergreenHealth's safe, high-quality care to our community. Recognitions like these remind us of our tireless dedication to our values and mission to advance the health of the community."
EvergreenHealth Medical Center Kirkland's achievements are based exclusively on what matters most: patient outcomes. To determine the top hospitals for 2025, Healthgrades evaluated risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates for over 30 of the most common conditions and procedures at approximately 4,500 hospitals nationwide. Healthgrades' annual analysis revealed significant performance gaps between the nation's highest- and lowest-achieving hospitals, making it increasingly important to seek care at a top-rated facility. In fact, from 2021-2023, if all hospitals, as a group, performed similarly to America's 50 Best, 173,516 lives could have been saved.* Patients treated at one of America's 50 Best Hospitals had a 24.2% lower risk of dying than if they were treated at hospitals that did not receive the award.*
"As one of America's 50 Best Hospitals, EvergreenHealth Medical Center Kirkland is elevating the standard for quality care nationwide," said Brad Bowman, MD, chief medical officer and head of data science at Healthgrades. "Healthgrades commends EvergreenHealth Medical Center Kirkland for their leadership and ongoing commitment to providing the best possible care for all patients in Washington State."
