EvergreenHealth Earns 13th Consecutive 'A' Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group

New Grade for spring 2025 is a national recognition for patient safety

KIRKLAND, WA—EvergreenHealth has been awarded an "A" Hospital Safety Grade for the 13th consecutive time by The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit upholding the standard for excellence in patient safety in hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers.

"This national recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering safe, high-quality care and ensuring patient safety remains a top priority at every level of our organization," said EvergreenHealth CEO Ettore Palazzo, MD, FACP. "Our continued success is a direct result of the dedication of our staff to create a culture of safety, whether it's in providing direct patient care or supporting those who do."

Leapfrog assigns an "A" through "F" grade to all general hospitals across the country based on over 30 national performance measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries and infections, as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program exclusively based on hospital prevention of medical errors and harm to patients. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually in the fall and spring.

"Achieving an 'A' Hospital Safety Grade reflects enormous dedication to patient safety," said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. "I extend my congratulations to EvergreenHealth, its leadership, clinicians, staff and volunteers for creating a culture where patients come first."

Most recently, EvergreenHealth was named one of America's 50 Best Hospitals by Healthgrades for the fifth year in a row, placing the hospital among the top 1% of hospitals nationwide for superior clinical performance year-over-year.
