EvergreenHealth Primary Care Monroe Welcomes Andrew Thurman, MD

Kirkland, Wash. – EvergreenHealth recently welcomed Andrew Thurman, MD, to its team of family medicine physicians at its Monroe primary care practice.

Dr. Thurman brings more than 20 years of expertise in primary care and specializes in family medicine. Particularly, he focuses on wellness exams, diabetes management, hypertension and typical family health issues. He’s also skilled in various procedures, such as joint injections, skin biopsies and cryotherapy.

“We are excited to welcome Dr. Thurman to our family medicine team,” said Chris Bredson, chief operating officer of EvergreenHealth. “Dr. Thurman’s deep understanding of family medicine, along with overall preventive care, helps ensure our primary care patients can receive the best possible holistic care.”

According to Dr. Thurman, his grandmother, who was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig’s Disease when he was child, inspired him to pursue medicine as a career. Today, he approaches care by forming a partnership with his patients. Dr. Thurman prides himself on being an active listener and working directly with his patients to determine the best options to help them achieve better overall health and reach their health goals.

Dr. Thurman is board-certified in family medicine and attended medical school at the University of California, Los Angeles. He completed his residency at the Sharp Family Practice in San Diego, California and has worked for a host of different medical providers across the Puget Sound region, including Virginia Mason Edmonds Family Medicine and Edmonds Family Medicine Clinic.

Outside of the health system, Dr. Thurman is an active member of the Shoreline Rotary, where he served as president. He also enjoys spending time with his family outdoors, walking their dogs and cycling.
