EvergreenHealth Palliative Medicine Welcomes Moira Opalka, ARNP
Kirkland, Wash. – EvergreenHealth Palliative Medicine has welcomed Moira Opalka, ARNP, to its team of compassionate health care providers and pain management specialists in Kirkland.
Opalka is a board-certified family nurse practitioner specializing in pain management and integrative medicine, which combines traditional medicine with complementary therapies and focuses on the whole person. She primarily treats adults, and has been practicing for over two decades.
"Moira is a welcome addition to our palliative care team," said Chris Bredeson, chief operating officer at EvergreenHealth. "She brings a holistic perspective and a wide range of therapeutic expertise in controlling pain and integrative care, which will benefit our Eastside community."
Opalka’s practice philosophy is focused on providing holistic care to each of her patients, meaning she cares for the whole person physically, psychologically, emotionally and spiritually. She also prides herself on aligning with her patients' health goals to determine the most appropriate treatment. Opalka believes in preventive medicine and hopes to help her patients improve their quality of life so they can feel well for as long as possible.
Opalka received her master's degree in nursing from Samuel Merritt University in Oakland, California, before pursuing her advanced practice nursing certificate in palliative care at Shiley Haynes Institute for Palliative Care in San Marcos, California. In addition, Opalka is a nationally certified acupuncturist and has practiced and led mindfulness and awareness meditations for more than a decade.
Born and raised in the Seattle area, Opalka practiced in California before returning to her roots here in the Pacific Northwest, where she enjoys the culture and arts scene and the beauty of the great outdoors.
