EvergreenHealth Obstetrics and Gynecology Care Welcomes Semonti Hossain, MD
Kirkland, Wash. – EvergreenHealth Obstetrics & Gynecology Care recently welcomed Semonti Hossain, MD, to its team of dedicated gynecological physicians and providers.
Dr. Hossain provides the full spectrum of gynecologic care. She spent the last several years caring for patients in the greater Boston area, where she further developed her expertise across OB/GYN practice areas including infertility; management of low- and high-risk pregnancies; menopausal health; family planning and laparoscopic gynecologic surgery.
“It is a pleasure to have Dr. Hossain join our OB/GYN team,” said Aileen Mickey, MD, FCCP, chief medical officer of EvergreenHealth Medical Group. “Her passion for connecting with patients to understand and compassionately care for their individual needs shines through in all of her work, and she will be an excellent asset to help ensure all women receive the care that most appropriately aligns with their values and preferences.”
Dr. Hossain’s philosophy of care is rooted in her desire to care for women through all phases in a woman’s life, recognizing that each stage introduces new challenges and opportunities. She is committed to ensuring her patients receive culturally competent care, regardless of their backgrounds or walks of life. She believes that by continuing to learn about the world, she can be a better physician.
Dr. Hossain also believes education has a critical role in the success of a patient-doctor relationship, which enables her to partner with patients for healthier outcomes.
Dr. Hossain graduated from the University of Washington School of Medicine before completing her residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Prior to her work in Boston, Dr. Hossain cared for patients in Haiti and Bangladesh to connect with communities and improve maternal health. She speaks both English and Bengali.
In her free time, Dr. Hossain enjoys exploring local cafes, trying international cuisine and learning new cultures through travel with her family. As a Bothell native, she is enjoying reconnecting with her home base; in fact, she used to volunteer for EvergreenHealth while in high school. Dr. Hossain also works as the reproductive health lead for Her WILL, an organization that fosters the development of Bangladeshi female professionals.
