EvergreenHealth Pulmonary Care Welcomes Sharukh Lokhandwala, MD
Kirkland, Wash. – EvergreenHealth recently welcomed Sharukh Lokhandwala, MD, to its team of Pulmonary Care internal medicine providers at its Kirkland campus.
Dr. Lokhandwala is board-certified in internal medicine and has clinical expertise in treating adult patients with asthma, COPD and lung nodules, along with providing critical care, sedation and pain management for pulmonary patients.
“Dr. Sharukh Lokhandwala brings extensive experience to EvergreenHealth Pulmonary Care, and we are fortunate to have him as part of our team,” said Aileen Mickey, MD, FCCP, chief medical officer of EvergreenHealth Medical Group. “His background in both clinical care and research makes him well-suited as a partner to patients who need specialized, complex care.”
Dr. Lokhandwala is an advocate for his patients, empowering them by providing the skills and knowledge they need to live their healthiest best. He is also committed to keeping his patients informed to ensure their care plans align with their personal values.
Before joining EvergreenHealth, Dr. Lokhandwala completed his fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Harborview Medical Center, where he cared for those with advanced lung diseases, lung transplants, organ failure, trauma, neurologic injuries and other complex conditions. He has also cared for patients as a member of a multidisciplinary team at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA)—evaluating patients with lung nodules and managing their care.
Prior to SCCA, Dr. Lokhandwala served as a faculty member at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston as a research associate at the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Science and Technology, where he worked on predicting the long-term outcomes of critical illnesses.
Dr. Lokhandwala grew up in Los Angeles and is excited to be back on the West Coast after living in various cities across the country. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, discovering new restaurants, snowboarding and playing with his dog, Leo, and cat, Milo.
