Classes

NEURO-NUTRITION CLASS
An interactive class and discussion group to learn more about how to:

  • Plan a good basic diet that provides the nutrition your body needs
  • Understand the calories needed to achieve or maintain a reasonable weight
  • Develop eating strategies to prevent GI issues like constipation and slow digestion
  • Schedule meals for best medication action
  • Protect your energy by planning and preparing meals

Class is for:  people with all neurological disorders

Meets the 3rd Thursday of the month, 10:30-11:30 a.m.

FROM-THE-GROUND-UP STRENGTH AND FLEXIBILITY
A mostly-mat based class designed to give a safe and effective workout. Class includes elements of yoga, tai chi, dumbbell exercise and exercise bands.

Class is for: people with neurological disorders such as MS, Parkinson's and stroke

Meets Mondays and Fridays, 2-3 p.m.

Fee: $20 for each four-week session

DANCE FOR PARKINSON’S
Join the internationally acclaimed Dance for PD® class to stretch and strengthen your body and use eyes, ears and touch to control movement through dance. Come prepared to move with live accompaniment and discover how exhilarating it is to dance - mentally, spiritually and physically. TREMOLOS – CHOIR FOR PARKINSON’S

Please come enjoy 60 minutes of vocal exercises, fun and familiar tunes, and the camaraderie of PwP, care partners, family and friends. PARKINSON’S CARE PARTNER SUPPORT GROUP
This support group is dedicated for family members or friends who have assumed the role of caregiver for a loved one with Parkinson’s disease or other movement disorder.

WOMEN LIVING WITH PARKINSON’S
Though Parkinson’s disease is often associated with men, there are a great many women who are diagnosed with Parkinson’s. Women living with Parkinson’s have their own unique experiences, concerns and needs. Our women-centered support group provides as supportive environment to discuss topics and concerns with others who understand and can relate to your experiences.

More than 40 self-help groups across Western and Central Washington, Montana, and Alaska give people with MS the chance to meet and talk with others who share their challenges and successes. The chapter also sponsors groups serving those with specific interests, such as caregivers, LGBT, men, mothers, and young adults.

ONE-ON-ONE PEER CONNECTIONS
MS affects everyone differently- that’s why it is important to have someone who understands to support you.

Through the Peer Connections program you can search for and connect with a peer support volunteer who has “been there” and can provide you with helpful tips, suggestions and emotional support for the challenges that MS throws at you. You can connect with your peer via one-on-one ongoing telephone calls, email conversations or messages within our online community.
