Mammography is the single most effective thing you can do to make sure breast cancer is detected at its earliest and most treatable stages.
That's why EvergreenHealth has been the regional leader in providing Genius 3-D digital mammography imaging technology - the latest breakthrough in breast cancer detection. 3-D mammography can spot cancers before they are seen by regular 2-D mammography.
Our mammography locations offer all 3-D mammography. The exams are performed by certified breast radiologists and the images are interpreted by fellowship-trained breast radiologists.
It’s why our breast cancer treatment outcomes and long-term survival rates exceed the national averages:

You've probably heard a lot of different opinions regarding how early, and how often, women should get mammograms.
EvergreenHealth's breast cancer experts stress that early detection leads to the best outcomes, and they recommend women continue to follow the American Cancer Society's guidelines, which include:
The screening experience is similar to a traditional mammogram. The only difference is the x-ray arm will move in an arc, taking multiple breast images from many angles in just seconds.
The images are then sent to a computer, which produces clear, highly focused 3-dimensional images throughout your breast.
These images allow our breast radiologists to view 1 mm slice images through the breast tissue for closer, clearer looks at any areas of suspicion, which enable them to spot cancers earlier.
While there are many benefits to 3-D mammography, the top two benefits are:
Detecting breast cancer at its earliest stages. Since we began offering 3-D mammography, EvergreenHealth is seeing a 10% increase in detection of breast cancer that would not have been detected using 2-D mammography.
Peace of mind afforded by greater accuracy at the initial screening. With 3-D mammography, patients at EvergreenHealth experienced a 25% decrease in call-backs, resulting in greater peace of mind.
