The EvergreenHealth Emergency Care team uses a triage system to prioritize patients based on how serious their condition is, ensuring those with life‑threatening issues receive immediate attention. If your condition is not critical, you'll be seen in order of severity compared with others waiting. While you wait, you may undergo tests such as blood work, X‑rays, CT scans, or an EKG so your team can begin evaluating your condition. Nurses, technicians, and providers will assess you, review test results, and guide your care. Test times range from about 1 to 3 hours depending on the exam. If you need to stay in the hospital, admission to a room typically takes 1–1.5 hours. If you're going home, your nurse will review discharge instructions, prescriptions, and answer your questions.
