How old do I need to be to volunteer?
- 16 years of age to volunteer in the Gift Shops or at the Information Desks
- 18 years of age or older to volunteer in any department accepting volunteers
What is the time commitment to be a volunteer?
- Volunteers agree to come in once a week for a three or four hour shift on the same day and shift each week
- Volunteers agree to a six month commitment
Is there a cost or fee to volunteer?
Volunteers will receive parking, training and uniforms at no cost.
When will I hear from Volunteer Services about my application?
Once Volunteer Services has received your application, you will be contacted to schedule an interview.
Who should write my letter of recommendation?
References must be an adult and can be either personal or professional (examples are: teacher, professor, friend, neighbor, employer, co-worker, etc.) references.
Can I shadow a nurse or doctor as a volunteer?
Volunteer Services does not facilitate any internships, externships, observing or shadowing experiences; these are usually arranged through educational programs at colleges and vocational schools. Please refer to Job Shadow Students for more information.
