Parent-Baby Groups

Since 1991, EvergreenHealth's popular Parent-Baby Groups have been providing education and support for new families who are welcoming their baby. Discussions include feeding, relationships, postpartum adjustment, developmental stages, sleep and more.

Join us to share parenting successes and challenges—and to get practical, hands-on information to make the journey a little easier. Taught by lactation and early parenting educators.

Parent Baby Drop-In Group

This FREE weekly offering is available to all families with babies 0-12 months. Families can come socialize with other new parents, weigh their baby on a hospital scale, get help with front packs and infant carriers, and build community in a safe, comfortable environment. There is no pressure to be on time. Just drop in and relax! The Parent Baby Drop-In Group is facilitated by a trained parenting and lactation educator.

The Parent Baby Drop-In Group meets Thursdays from 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. in room Tan 142 on the EvergreenHealth Kirkland campus.

This Is Not What I Expected

[Virtual class] This FREE nurturing support group is for parents with babies from birth to age 2 who are feeling overwhelmed and/or struggling with the transition to parenthood. It is led by educators trained to support parents through these challenges. Leaders are skilled at directing parents to community resources to help cope with postpartum adjustment and mood disorders.

You may want to consider joining this group if you feel anxious, isolated, sad, depressed, irritable, are having difficulty sleeping and want to learn more about postpartum mood disorders.

The group meets virtually the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month, from 7-9 p.m. Fee: free. For more information, email Community Health Education or call (425) 544-0050 M-F 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Starting Solids

Learn practical and research-based information on the healthy feeding of solid foods for babies and toddlers. Topics include signs of readiness, introduction of allergens, avoiding pitfalls that lead to "picky eating," fostering a lifelong healthy relationship with food, and more. Curriculum is based on current nutrition guidelines and American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommendations. Suggested for parents of infants 4-12 months old.

Breastfeeding Your Older Baby

This class provides support and education for moms who are continuing to breastfeed beyond the first six months. Lively discussion topics include the cumulative health benefits of continued breastfeeding for both mom and baby, cultural pressures, developmental challenges, weaning and more. Included is best practice information as suggested by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the World Health Organization.

The class is facilitated by a trained lactation educator.
