Good Pregnancy Books

Sometimes you may want to step away from all the online content and sit with a good book.

As you prepare for Welcoming Baby, here are a few print resources we recommend for Mom’s- and Dad’s-to-be.

Mayo Clinic: Guide to a Healthy Pregnancy is written by doctors who are also parents.

It’s broken down into three sections: pregnancy, childbirth and newborn, detailing important information you need to know in each stage.

The Pregnancy Countdown Book by Susan Magee and Kara Nakisbendi, MD, details your entire pregnancy experience.

Not harsh nor blunt, but also not sugar-coated, this gets right to the point in telling you about milestones and the changes your body is going through.

The Expectant Father by Armin A. Brott and Jennifer Ash is an “ultimate guide for dads-to-be” and is considered an essential resource for all expecting dads.

Other recommended books:

  • Ina May's Guide to Childbirth - what you need to know to have the best birth experience for you
  • The Birth Partner: A Complete Guide to Childbirth for Dads, Doulas, and Other Labor Companions - for the partner who wishes to be truly helpful in the birthing room
  • Birthing from Within: An Extra-Ordinary Guide to Childbirth Preparation - a holistic approach to childbirth
