This was a serious visit--a referral from my Primary Care Physician--to assess whether it was probable that I have Prostate Cancer. Dr. Van Appledorn was kind, professional, and compassionate. He listed carefully to what I, and my wife, were saying. I never felt rushed. We left that visit in a positive state of mind.

Surgically I believe he is a very capable individual. My biopsy seemed to go flawlessly. At this visit I was told I had cancer. I was handed some sheets of paper with minimal explanation. I had to go home and log on to the Sloan Kettering website to understand the results of my biopsy as the only thing I was told was that I needed to have additional tests and meet with a Radiologist Oncologist. It would have been very helpful if either A: Don't give me the Sloan Kettering nomogram or B: Explain what it means.Nobody likes to hear they have cancer and he seemed very caring but he also seemed unsure of what to say and that felt uncomfortable.

It did seem that my doctor was running late. He did not spend as much time with me as in the past after performing the Cysto.
