Philosophy of Care

I love to establish a close relationship with patients to help them make educated decisions about their mental and physical health and be proactive. My goal is to advocate for my patient to be proactive in their health. I am also an ally to our LGBTQ+ community and provide a safe space for all of my patients to discuss their unique health care needs.

Personal Information

I was born and raised in Iran and came to the US in my early 20s. I chose medicine as a career because it's emotionally intense to help me be more empathetic, intellectually challenging to keep me humble and culturally dynamic to keep my passion alive.
I love the diversity in this area along with the outdoors. I enjoy hiking with my husband and son, and gardening with my son.

I have rarely had a PCP who is as gracious, attentive and uplifting as Dr. Khalaj. I never feel rushed in her presence. She looks me in the eyes and listens deeply. She has studied my medical chart before my appointment and reviews my blood work results and shows me data that supports my weight loss program on Zepbound. I feel very well monitored and her personal concern over my total health is exemplary. She is the best personal medical advocate I have ever had.

Dr. Khalaj always goes above & beyond to see how I'm actually doing, make clear recommendations, include me in the decision-making, & verify that all my questions have been answered. She has a warm, friendly personality that really puts me at ease so I can ask her anything. She's the best PCP I could ask for--I really don't know what I'd do without her.
