Philosophy of Care

I chose to become an orthopedic surgeon because of my desire to help patients return to their active lifestyles. I have always had an interest in sports, and orthopedic surgery has allowed me to apply this in my professional life by working with athletes of all ages and walks of life. Whether you are a 16-year-old soccer player, a 33-year-old marathon runner, a 50-year old who enjoys walking, or a 65-year-old who wants to throw the ball with your grandkids, I will take the time to sit down with you to figure out why you are having trouble doing the things you want to be doing, and together we will come up with the best solution for you. Each patient is different, and I believe it is my job to get to know you, listen to your concerns, understand your expectations, and provide you with the best surgical and non-surgical options for getting you back to being active and enjoying your life.

I left in tears. He made me feel like I was wasting his time. It was overall a very bad experience for me. No bedside manner at all.

This was my first time seeing this provider and not only was he extremely kind and informative, but he was very thorough. We are talking about future surgery and he wanted to make sure he got better x-rays just to make sure my diagnosis is correct and he is also having me do one more step to make sure we will be repairing the area that is causing pain. I was extremely pleased with this visit.

Everyone always made sure to tell me what they were doing and why they were doing it. They were all vocal about the approach to my treatment and it made me feel included in my recovery. They all made sure to listen to me and acted based on that with to with the utmost respect which I appreciated.

Next month will be my third surgery with Dr Gregush. He has always been kind and articulate in conversation, obviously intelligent. What I've most needed, however, is for him to be an excellent surgeon, which he is I'm very happy with the care I've received.

I picked this specialist because both my wife and son had seen him for a knee problem (torn meniscus).

Dr. Gregush explained the source of my hip and knee pain very thoroughly and he allowed me time to process the news of needing an impending hip replacement. He reviewed the recovery time and even showed me the hardware that is involved with the hip replacement. He put my mind at ease that this was nothing that I did but was born with. I was seeing a second opinion and he confirmed a lot of what the previous orthopedic surgeon had told me.

I'm very happy with my provider. He explains everything and helps me understand what is injured and what he needs to do to repair it. I like the pictures he explains where I'm injured and uses objects too.
