Philosophy of Care
My primary framework for psychotherapy is cognitive behavioral therapy, a therapy focused on a patient's experiences in the present. Together with me, patients will walk through their reasons for attending therapy, identify future goals and identify changes to start feeling better. Therapy might involve steps like discussing information about a medical diagnosis, the personal impact of the diagnosis, and what to expect in the future. I also prioritize techniques to manage stress or improve sleep, changes to thinking or habits, and processing emotions about stressful events.
I am also an ally to our LGBTQ+ community and provide a safe space for all of my patients to discuss their unique health care needs.
