I chose medicine to work with underserved communities and provide them with good medical care. My goal is to provide patients with the best available help and information so they can make the best decisions for their health. I am also an ally to our LGBTQ+ community and provide a safe space for all of my patients to discuss their unique health care needs.

Originally from Chicago, Dr. Mata completed his medical training in California before moving to the Pacific Northwest. He chose the area for its access to the outdoors, and enjoys hiking, backpacking, mountain biking and fly fishing.
