Heather Bradford has been providing women with full-scope midwifery care since 2002 and is a member of the Fellowship of the American College of Nurse-Midwives. 
She has a special interest in federal and state health policy, and recently authored a chapter on health policy in a book entitled Supporting a Physiologic Approach to Pregnancy and Birth: A Practice Guide.
She also wrote a book chapter on health policy initiatives advocating for childbearing women in a book entitled Best Practices in Midwifery (2nd edition), published in August 2016.

Personal Information

My husband and I have three young children. When not at EvergreenHealth or carpooling to and from the kids' activities, my interests include running and legislative advocacy for midwives. 

Community Involvement

I teach distance learning nurse-midwifery students as adjunct faculty for Georgetown University's Graduate Program in Midwifery and Women's Health and also work as an affiliate instructor at the University of Washington with the Department of Family and Child Nursing.
I serve as the state legislative contact for the Washington Affiliate of the American College of Nurse Midwives as well as a Pro-Tem member of the Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission.

Generally great, but they don't ask about complaints/concerns I have voiced in other appts. I guess they assume if it is still an issue I will bring it up, but I wish they followed up with me more.

The CNM was explaining the risk of... at birth when the baby wasn't at risk for that -> we were monitoring his abdominal girth b/c of hydronephrosis, not his shoulder size.

All the midwives are always very thorough and do a great job explaining my options and answering my questions.

Heather is fantastic. She also delivered my first son and she was brilliant. She didn't leave my side & such a calming approach. She is a wonderful midwife.
