This provider is very polite and has a professional demeanor. He's a knowledgeable physician. However, he questioned the expertise of a specialist to whom I'd been referred. That was a little awkward for me, since as the patient I don't have the expertise to determine which doctor is correct (though I have no reason to disbelieve the specialist, given they've dedicated their career to that medical sector). This provider also didn't listen closely to my health concerns. I have had health issues for some years now, and I described to him the struggles I'd been having with chronic inflammation and weight gain. I explained measures I'd already taken to address the issues. He implied I am probably eating a lot more than I realize, and that I should download a calorie counting app, and take daily walks. His advice was overly simplistic, and he seemed to ignore or mistrust the background information I'd given regarding what I was doing to combat the problem. He was courteous with me, asked questions, and reviewed my chart. However, I left the appointment feeling like he barely listened, and gave rudimentary advice that discounted what I am already doing to get ahead of some significant health struggles in recent years. In recent years as an Evergreen patient, I feel like the doctors are overscheduled, and they don't have a lot of time to talk to their patients in any depth. This may be an outcome of the pandemic, and the critical understaffing hospitals have experienced in recent times. I don't know if there's an easy solution.

I wish there was a little more attention to mental health. I realize insurance doesn't cover most mental health issues, but if you aren't mental healthy, you will be more prone to being sick.
