Personal Information

I enjoy medicine because as it's a great combo of dealing with science/technology as well as the human condition and being able to improve someone's life is immeasurable.
I'm a Northwest native, and returned to Washington state after attending college in southern California. I took a year off between college and medical school to teach math and science on St. Vincent and the Grenadine in the West Indies.
My wife and I live in Redmond with our three children, and all of our extended family are here in the greater Seattle area. We enjoy the area's combination of outdoors plus arts, music, culture scene and being around our family.
In our free time, we enjoy anything outside - on the water or in the mountains (road/mountain biking, snowboarding/skiing/xc skiing, stand-up paddle boarding, running, hiking, multi-sport).

Community Involvement

I'm involved with my youngest daughter's soccer team and my son's lacrosse team.

I am not sure what I would do without Dr. Burns. He has been a blessing. He is on top of cutting edge technology and knows everyone in the field. His experience and wisdom is critical to my spine health... My children are very grateful that he hasn't thrown in the towel with me... His commitment to getting me back to baseline is so reassuring. His passion for his field shines through and pulls me up when I feel hopeless that I will be stuck like this forever. Any other doctor would have probably given up on my case by now ... I'VE ALMOST given up on my case at times... And I prob would have If It wasn't for his determination and high standards for above and beyond mediocre pt outcomes

Dr Burns has provided excellent care in the past when I have been in terrible pain. My last couple of visits with him seemed different but I don't know what it was. I have seen other doctors for injections who did not help my pain. Dr Burns is the best and excellent at what he does.
