Dr. Douglas Burns is an expert in the evaluation and treatment of spine and musculoskeletal pain conditions and sports injuries, utilizing the most up-to-date diagnostics (exam, radiology, laboratory, consultations) and leading edge/evidence-based treatments (medications, therapy, injections, surgery). He coordinates care among a broad spectrum of health professionals, including chiropractors, massage therapists and acupuncturists along with physical, occupational and speech therapists.
Dr. Burns has experience in both hospital and private practice medicine focusing on musculoskeletal, neuromuscular and electrodiagnostic diagnosis and treatment. He developed the interventional spine department at the Wenatchee Valley Medical Center before relocating to the Seattle area to complete additional training in interventional pain procedures. He has performed more than 10,000 spinal procedures including the cervical, thoracic and lumbosacral spine. At EvergreenHealth Sport & Spine Care, Dr. Burns splits his practice between clinical diagnosis and treatment and interventional pain procedures.

Personal Information

I enjoy medicine because as it's a great combo of dealing with science/technology as well as the human condition and being able to improve someone's life is immeasurable.
I'm a Northwest native, and returned to Washington state after attending college in southern California. I took a year off between college and medical school to teach math and science on St. Vincent and the Grenadine in the West Indies.
My wife and I live in Redmond with our three children, and all of our extended family are here in the greater Seattle area. We enjoy the area's combination of outdoors plus arts, music, culture scene and being around our family.
In our free time, we enjoy anything outside - on the water or in the mountains (road/mountain biking, snowboarding/skiing/xc skiing, stand-up paddle boarding, running, hiking, multi-sport).

Community Involvement

I'm involved with my youngest daughter's soccer team and my son's lacrosse team.

Dr. Burns & his entire team were so caring, kind, thoughtful. They all explained the procedure, put me at ease, felt like they really cared about me. I had had a terrible experience a few weeks before at a different clinic where I will never return. What a world of difference w/ Dr. Burns & his clinic. I would recommend him & would return to him if needed. Thank you to all of their staff.
