Philosophy of Care

I feel that my primary roles are to help guide you through your options for management of a concern or problem and to understand your choices so you can decide for yourself what is best for you.
For obstetrical patients, I provide the information needed to have a safe and healthy pregnancy and delivery utilizing your preferences whenever possible. Many issues can arise in a pregnancy, but I do not treat it as an illness! Helping you achieve their healthiest best is what I strive for.

Personal Information

My husband and I have known each other since high school, and have been married since starting medical school. We have three children who have been very involved in school and club sports through the years (keeping us involved in them as well!) including wrestling, football, soccer, gymnastics and skiing.
We enjoy hiking, boating, camping and backpacking with our extended and immediate family and enjoy all that Washington has to offer in that regard.
I also enjoy photography, gardening, cooking and scrapbooking when time allows. I grew up with horses, but have not had the time to take that interest back up since college.

Community Involvement

I volunteer in my children's schools and with their sports booster clubs and have taken on the "photographer" role for many of their sports.
I also volunteer several times a year with the Nick of Time Foundation, which is a nonprofit organization that screens young athletes in their schools for risk of sudden cardiac death.
When possible, my kids and I have participated in fund raising walks for juvenile diabetes and breast cancer.

Dr. Stemmerman was not prepared for my visit. She did not review my patient record or know what follow-up blood draws needed to be taken. She did not know that I did not have a 2-week postnatal checkup. I was disappointed with this virtual appointment because I would have liked more advice on how my incision looked, how I could shower or clean the Incision site moving forward, and more. I did not get this advice because she said I did not need a 2-week checkup several weeks before. I felt like she didn't treat me as an individual patient and that I truly couldn't get advice from her on what type of birth control would be right for me. Because of that, I just went along with her recommendation and got a prescription for a birth control I don't plan to use. Dr. Stemmerman took no time to build trust with my family and I and because of that, I would not recommend her to anyone. I am very glad a different OBGYN in this practice actually delivered my baby - maybe then I would be able to recommend Evergreen Health.

Dr is always in a rush, I had questions and felt she was making her way to the door while I was asking them. I know the doctors are busy but more time would be nice.

I never saw Dr. Stemmerman.
January 25, 2022
She asked many questions about family history (cancer, etc.) and was very thorough.

I can only assume Covid is taking a stress toll on this provider. 25 years coming here for care and this is first visit that was wholly unacceptable.

Provider delivered both my kiddos. Wouldn't go to anyone else.

Dr. Stemmerman's bedside manner is very poor. If I had an option to switch providers, I would.

Never met the provider.

Love Stemmerman. Been her OB & GYN patient for 20+ years.

I have declined COVID vaccination many times and Dr Stemmerman continues to "educate" me on it every visit. I am decided and am happy to explain that I'm not ignorant or uneducated but she had never asked me those questions.
October 25, 2021
Doc ALWAYS in a rush. My concerns were usually dismissed. Doc always uninterested.
September 27, 2021
She is easy to talk to.
August 10, 2021
She didn't listen to any of my concerns because she asked if I got the COVID vaccine and spent the rest of the appointment lecturing me on it so none of my questions or concerns got answered
