Philosophy of Care

My approach is one of shared decision-making. I'm expert at understanding the symptoms of movement disorders and at knowing what effects different treatments may have, but only you know your goals. Once I understand your goals, I can make suggestions that help you achieve them.
One of the things I love best about being a movement disorders neurologist is the opportunity to establish rapport and trust with you over a long-term relationship.

Both my Mom and I really liked Dr. Burdick. He is smart, kind and listened patiently. He made my Mom go through a comprehensive set of tests in his office. Then he provided several treatment options for her to consider along with his specific recommendation.

My primary care provider was neurologist, Dr. Daniel Burdick. Over the course of six years of receiving care from him, he has been absolutely wonderful. His knowledge, his care, his decisions, his demeanor his genuine concern for making sure that I am getting the best care possible, and the treatment decisions are sound, and effective has been fantastic.

My husband was changing medications which reduced his need for meds from six times a day to four, an incredible life improvement because we were missing doses or late on them. But to get the schedule and dosing right for this change is a wild ride. Dr. Burdick was there to guide us through, very attentive and caring. We are so grateful to him. I can imagine many other patients and doctors give up during that process, but we trusted him from our years working together, and he got us to this far better situation. And he warned us before it would be challenging, so I blocked out a couple weeks for the process, avoiding other significant activities, and this process did consume those two weeks. Without his understanding and consideration to warn us, the process would not have worked.

Dr. Burdick is an outstanding physician. He is clearly very knowledgeable, but also very human. He is patient, understanding, incredibly patient, and an excellent listener. You really feel like you are the only one he is seeing that day and there is no rush, even though I know he has many patients to see.
