Very little proactive advice about things I could do to improve long term outcome. I had to ask "Can I do X, Y, or Z?" and generally got a short "Yes, X" but no alternatives. Very little information given on what to expect in regards to swelling or when to be concerned. I have scheduled with a non-Evergreen podiatrist for further care.

I found pre-operative discussion and information was good. However I was uncomfortable with what I perceived to be a dearth of info regarding post-op. I wasn't sure what to expect, beyond the obvious (infection etc) and was worried I was going to do something to jeopardize my recovery. I felt unprepared. I am certain if I had asked before the surgery I'd have known, but I didn't. I would like to suggest that the group consider preparing a handout for the pre-op info packet that sets expectations and includes hints and tips for post-op beyond "don't remove your bandage", etc. Otherwise people will all join discussion groups online where there is a great chance of misinformation sharing, to which I can attest from experience!

The doctor did not discus much about risks and benefits.
