Personal Information

I grew up in Snohomish, WA where I still reside with my husband and three children. Living in the country allows me to enjoy the great outdoors.
In my leisure time I enjoy growing and canning my own food, exercising, reading, and spending quality time with family and friends.
My passion for women's health and pregnancy stems from childhood. During my second pregnancy I had an appointment with a women's health nurse practitioner and immediately knew this was the path I would take in life.

Provider was extremely dismissive of my concern for a past pregnancy condition and after looking up my history from the previous pregnancy, questioned my regular OB's decision making saying I was barely diagnosable. To which my response was "but yet diagnosable. So order the blood test". To be dismissed about a serious condition and feel like I have to defend myself was disconcerting and extremely upsetting.Provider made multiple remarks regarding other staff from within her clinic as well as staff from the maternity center which did not instill confidence whatsoever in team spirit or working well together. She was preturbed that no one had checked my thyroid recently enough or that my bruise from an infiltration from an IV in the maternity triage shouldn't have happened, as well that they didn't describe preterm labor to the extent that she deemed acceptable when leaving the triage. All this DESPITE the fact that I felt very taken care of in the triage and had already talked to the Dr on call about my symptoms and was very aware (also, this is my third pregnancy). The privider protrayed an air of suppriority that did not instill any confidence whatsoever in the maternity center and women's clinic working well together and having each other's back. Very dissapointed.Provider was extremely condescending, rude and short with the student who was working with her. I was appalled at the lack of professionalism. Granted, I do not know the history of this student and their strengths or shortcomings, nor how long they have been shadowing - but I absolutely expect an air of compassion and professionalism from a provider when teaching a student, especially in front of a patient.I will end this by saying, the provider presented a jovial air, but It didn't negate anything about my experience and being dismissive, acting supprior, etc. At my next appointment with my regular OB, I will ask that it be noted in my records that I do not want to have any interactions with this provider ever again.

Provider was condescending, did no explain care well, and followed up most statements with, "but you already know all about that because you're a nurse." When pt. discussed where she worked, provider became insulting and stated how she considered working there at one point but thought it would be "too boring". I strongly hope not to see this provider again.

She talked about transitioning birth control pills to Tri-lo but couldn't find any. Then later did research and ordered Tri-lo for me.
