Philosophy of Care

I believe in a patient-centered approach to orthopedic care. When a patient comes in with pain, dysfunction or a new injury, it can be a scary or frustrating time. I believe it is my job to explain the diagnosis in an understandable way, present the treatment options and make a recommendation that is individually tailored to the patient.

He didn't really explain the length of healing and the steps in the process. I know people heal differently but a general idea would have eased my anxiety

I feel that Dr S always has my good in mind. He's an excellent trauma surgeon with fantastic bedside manner. From the time I was dropped off at the ER, to my long surgery the next day, to the days spent in the hospital, and now to follow-up visits in the office, he has been nothing but professional and personable. I am thankful that he was on call on the evening of my fall. And I look forward to checking in a couple more times with him until I am 100% back to normal!

I had a great experience with Dr. Sangeorzan - he explained all my options thoroughly and objectively which made me feel good about choosing to have surgery but I felt well informed including data on outcomes of surgical vs. Nonsurgical and I didn't feel like I was being swayed in either direction. Great bedside manner!
