Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Amy Beiter joined EvergreenHealth in August 2018, and is responsible for the leadership of all aspects of EvergreenHealth’s purpose, mission and vision.
Dr. Beiter is a respected senior physician executive with 25 years of experience in the health care field as a leader in both clinical and administrative capacities. She most recently served as president and CEO for Carondelet St. Mary’s Hospital in Tucson, Arizona.
Prior to serving as CEO, Dr. Beiter held several clinical leadership positions at St. Mary’s, including a four-year tenure as chief medical officer. She practiced internal medicine and pediatrics in both inpatient and outpatient settings for many years, subsequently becoming a hospitalist and eventually serving as her group’s lead physician.
Dr. Beiter earned a Bachelor of Science from Purdue University and received her medical degree from Indiana University. She also holds a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts Isenberg School of Management.
She has been recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review as a “Physician Leaders of Hospital and Health Systems to Know” and as a “Women Hospital and Health System Leaders to Know.”
Senior Vice President, Chief Nursing Officer
Nancee Hofmeister is responsible for inpatient nursing areas, emergency services and overall nursing practice for the entire EvergreenHealth system.
Hofmeister joined EvergreenHealth in 2012 after spending 10 years in nursing leadership positions at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan - a 2005 Baldridge Award recipient. The Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (MBNQA) is presented annually by the President of the United States to organizations that demonstrate quality and performance excellence. While at Bronson, Nancee helped the organization earn Magnet® Recognition for Nursing Excellence, a four-year designation awarded by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, a subsidiary of the American Nurses Association. Considered the gold standard in nursing care, only seven percent of the nation’s hospitals have achieved Magnet status. Prior to Bronson, she had experience as a surgical service/oncology care manager, a home care case manager, and a nurse manager in obstetrics and neonatal intensive care.
She earned her MSN degree in Nursing Administration from Grand Valley State University and her BSN from the University of Michigan. She serves on the Cascadia College Board of Trustees, the Seattle Pacific University Nursing Advisory Committee, the University of Washington, and Bothell Nursing Advisory Committee.
Senior Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer, EvergreenHealth Monroe
Renée Jensen joined EvergreenHealth in May 2017, and is responsible for the day-to-day operation of EvergreenHealth Monroe in addition to serving on the administrative council for EvergreenHealth. She is also responsible for all lab and imaging services for the entire EvergreenHealth system.
Jensen comes to EvergreenHealth from Summit Pacific Medical Center, a critical access and public hospital district in Elma, Washington, where she was CEO. Prior to leading Summit Pacific, Jensen spent seven years at Columbia County Health System, a critical access hospital with health clinics in Dayton, Washington, where she served in several roles: first as a medical technologist, then as laboratory manager, and finally as associate administrator and quality improvement director.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry from Eastern Washington University and a Master of Healthcare Administration from University of Phoenix. In addition to being a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, she is a Washington State Hospital Association board member and serves on the Public Policy Committee.
Chief Medical Officer, EvergreenHealth Medical Group
Dr. Aileen Mickey works closely with EvergreenHealth’s physician and administrative leaders to provide strategic leadership for the medical group. She is responsible for optimizing organizational performance while working with 300+ providers to promote physician leadership and support a positive physician culture.
Dr. Mickey has practiced at EvergreenHealth Pulmonary Care since 2009, and is board certified in pulmonary medicine, internal medicine and critical care medicine.
Dr. Mickey holds a medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and completed a fellowship at Boston University School of Medicine.
Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer
Tina Mycroft is responsible for directing EvergreenHealth’s finances and privacy initiatives.
Mycroft joined EvergreenHealth in September 2016 after more than 20 years of leadership and financial management in both the acute care hospital and large medical group settings. She most recently served as CFO of St. Joseph Heritage Healthcare, a California-based, nonprofit medical practice foundation composed of more than 750 providers within eight medical groups and more than 1,300 physicians in an affiliate network model integrated with 10 hospital sponsors across St. Joseph Health/California.
She graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. Mycroft has been active in the communities in which she works, including serving as the Vice President of Acacia Elementary School Site Council in Fullerton, as a member of Las Lomas Verdes Swim Club Budget Committee, and a past member of the Board of Directors for Health Associates Federal Credit Union.
Senior Vice President, Chief Medical & Quality Officer
Jeff Tomlin, MD, is responsible for EvergreenHealth's clinical quality and safety. He also oversees risk management, surgical services, pharmacy and the medical staff services.
Dr. Tomlin came to EvergreenHealth in 1990 as a staff anesthesiologist after completing medical school and his residency at the University of Washington. He was subsequently named medical director for the Evergreen Surgical Center, and then added the medical directorship for surgical services at EvergreenHealth. In 2010, he was named Chief Medical Officer. He still practices as an anesthesiologist one day per week.
He is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, and spent six years as a Marine Corps pilot prior to medical school and continued his military service after medical school as a member of the Navy Reserve Medical Corps. He has served on the Northshore School District Wall of Honor Committee, and in 2017 was named winner of the Seattle Business Magazine Washington Leaders in Health Care Award for Outstanding Medical Director/Chief Medical Officer.
Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and District General Counsel
Jim Fitzgerald is responsible for EvergreenHealth’s legal affairs and services, including providing legal counsel to the Board of Commissioners and management.
Fitzgerald joined EvergreenHealth in September 2013. He had served as the outside District General Counsel since 2001, during which time he was the senior member of the Kirkland-based law firm of Livengood, Fitzgerald & Alskog, PLLC, where he practiced law for 35 years. He worked on legal matters for EvergreenHealth during his entire tenure with that firm.
He holds a BA degree in Business Administration and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Washington, and was admitted to the Washington State Bar in 1978 and the United States Supreme Court Bar in 1989. He is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association, and several other legal organizations. Jim is active as a volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America and the Eastside Legal Assistance Program.
Senior Vice President, Hospital & Medical Group Operations
Jeff Friedman is responsible for the integrated leadership of the hospital and medical group operations; cancer services including radiation oncology and SCCA, construction services and property management.
Friedman joined EvergreenHealth in December 2008, after serving two years as vice president of operations at Fort Sanders Sevier Medical Center in Sevierville, Tennessee. Prior to that, he spent 13 years in a variety of leadership roles at Morton Plant Mease Health Care in Dunedin, Florida.
Friedman earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business psychology at Miami University and a Master of Healthcare Administration degree at the University of Minnesota. He is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. He serves as an United Way Ambassador and is a member of the Lake Washington Institute of Technology Bachelor's in Public Health Advisory Board.
Senior Vice President, Strategy & Information Technology Officer
Tom Martin is responsible for information technology, strategic planning, business and relationship development and operational excellence at EvergreenHealth.
Martin came to EvergreenHealth in 2006 from University of Washington Medicine, where he served as chief information officer for all the UW Medicine organizations, including the UW Medical Center, Harborview Medical Center, School of Medicine and all Practice Plan. Prior to that, he worked for Andersen Consulting in their state and local government practice. Martin earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in mathematics and business administration from the University of Portland.
He is a member of several civic and professional organizations, including the One Redmond, Northwest Health Response Network, College of Healthcare Information Management Executives, and was a founding member of the Cerner University Hospital Customer Group. He serves as a board member for One Redmond and the Northwest Regional Response Network.
Tom was recognized with a Puget Sound Business Journal's 2014 Chief Information Officer Award, in the category of “businesses with more than $1 billion in annual revenue”.
Senior Vice President, Human Resources
Robert (Bob) Sampson is responsible for all facets of human resources and education at EvergreenHealth.
Sampson joined EvergreenHealth in July 2013, bringing with him nearly 30 years of senior level responsibility in human resources. He was most recently vice president of human resources at Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett and a member of the Providence Washington/Montana Senior Human Resources Leadership Team.
He holds a BS degree in Education from the Ohio State University and has completed course work toward an MBA from the University of Dayton. He serves on the Snohomish Workforce Development Council and participates in numerous community events supporting the United Way, March of Dimes, American Red Cross and YMCA.
Senior Vice President, Marketing, Communications & Customer Experience
Kay Taylor is responsible for marketing, public relations, patient experience, Healthline, community and employee wellness, nutrition therapy, food services and Cafe 128.
Previous positions have included Trinity Health in Michigan and similar roles as Chief Marketing Officer for Clarian Health in Indianapolis and Greater Baltimore Medical Center in Maryland. Taylor joined EvergreenHealth in December 2010 from Exempla Healthcare, a three hospital system in Denver, where she was the system’s Vice President of Communications and Marketing for seven years. She has more than 30 years’ experience as a senior marketing executive in the health care industry.
She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Alma College (Michigan) and is a member of several national health care organizations. She serves as a board member for the Kirkland Performance Center.
Vice President, Clinical Integration & Home Care/Hospice
Monique Gablehouse's responsibilities include leading the integration and inter-connections of EvergreenHealth clinical services, coordinating the continuum of care and disease management resources and systems, and leading our Home Care and Hospice Care. She is also the Executive Director of EvergreenHealth Partners, our clinical integration network.
Gablehouse joined EvergreenHealth in 1998 as a social worker and served in several supervisory roles. She was promoted to Hospice and Palliative Care Director in 2008, to Home Care Executive Director in 2010, and to her current position in December 2012.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Washington, along with a Master of Social Work degree. She is on the board of Eastside Human Services Forum and LifeWire.
Vice President, Medical Group Operations
Linda Jeppesen is responsible for developing, directing and coordinating all operational functions to support the EvergreenHealth Medical Group, working closely with physician and administrative leadership to promote the group's ongoing growth and success.
Jeppesen joined EvergreenHealth in 2017. Prior to that, she was CEO of Lakeshore Clinic and she held various leadership roles including CFO for Edmonds Family Medicine.
As CEO of Lakeshore, Jeppesen was an active and integral participant in the successful formation of EvergreenHealth Partners and the Puget Sound High Value Network.
Jeppesen holds a business degree from the University of Washington and she is a Certified Public Accountant. She has served as the Secretary Treasurer, President Elect and Board President of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western Washington.
Vice President, EvergreenHealth & EvergreenHealth Monroe Foundations
Kae Peterson is responsible for the day to day activities of the foundation and manages a professional staff that is responsible for annual giving, events, major and capital gifts, and legacy giving.
Peterson joined EvergreenHealth in 2006 after nine years as the senior executive director for the Shoreline Community College Foundation, Community Relations and Strategic Planning. Prior to that, Peterson was the executive director of the Shoreline/South County Family YMCA a branch of the YMCA of Greater Seattle.
She has a Master of Arts degree in Education, and is active in the Redmond Rotary, the Association of Hospital Philanthropy and is a board member for the NDHO Association. Peterson is also an elected Fire Commissioner for King County Fire Protection District #16.
Executive Director, Governance & Community Affairs
Laurene Burton serves as the liaison between EvergreenHealth and its publicly elected Board of Commissioners. She also oversees community service programs and levy-funded programs in addition to being EvergreenHealth's Public Disclosure Officer.
Burton joined EvergreenHealth's Community Health Education department in 1992, and was later named its director. Prior to EvergreenHealth, she worked at the University of Washington, conducting statewide training programs for health care professionals.
She received a Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University before attending graduate school at the University of Washington. She is actively involved in developing community partnerships and serves on the Lake Washington General Advisory Committee, Northshore School District Fitness and Nutrition Council, the WANIC Advisory Board and is past president of the Greater Bothell Chamber Board.
