Visitor policy changes - effective January 7, 2021

Community transmission of COVID is "substantial"

Likely, you’re aware that the number of reported cases in Washington state has been trending upward since early July 2021. These metrics for King County and metrics for Snohomish County aid in understanding COVID-19 activity our area. They help guide us in determining when action is needed to control the spread.

In response to high transmission rates in King and Snohomish Counties, EvergreenHealth Monroe has adjusted their visitor policies.

For your safety and others, we are limiting visitors in our hospital, practices, and other areas of care. Thank you for traveling only to and from your destination. Please do not linger within the facility, for absolute safety for you and others.

Every patient and visitor will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms at entry and asked to wear a mask for the duration of the visit.

Hospital patients and ED, surgical, and imaging patients

Emergency Department – No Visitors, Unless Exception Met

  • 2 Visitors: Patients who are at the end of life
  • 1 Adult Visitor: Patients who are unable to advocate for themselves (due to altered mental status, developmental delays, or disruptive behaviors where caregiver provides safety)
  • 1 Adult Visitor: Patients who are trauma or critical care
  • 1 Adult Visitor: Pediatric patients, under age 18
  • No minor visitors (under age 18) allowed

Inpatients Surgical, and Imaging Patients – One Visitor Per Day

  • Visiting hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • 2 Visitors: Patients who are at the end of life
  • 1 Adult Visitor: Patients who are unable to advocate for themselves (due to altered mental status, developmental delays, or disruptive behaviors where caregiver provides safety)
  • 1 Adult Visitor: Pediatric patients, under age 18
  • No minor visitors (under age 18) allowed

EvergreenHealth Monroe outpatient clinics – Wound Care, Anticoagulation, PT/OT

Generally, patients may have one adult visitor (over 18). Individual clinics may have specific visitor restrictions due to patient population and waiting room space in respect to social distancing. Each practice reserves the right to ask visitors to wait in the car, for absolute safety.
