I am a Family Nurse Practitioner who can provide the full range of adult primary care services including prevention and screenings, acute and chronic illness management and coordination. Within women's health, I can provide Pap and STD screening, breast evaluations, assist with vaginal and pelvic complaints, menopause, contraceptive management, prenatal counseling and the initial work up for infertility among others. I work closely with the Obstetric/Gynecologic providers in our practice who can assist you when and if you need further gynecologic evaluation or procedures.
Board Certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner
Prior to obtaining my ARNP license, I worked at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City as a registered nurse on a fast paced high-acuity adult medicine floor. Since 2000, I have provided primary care services as a Family Nurse Practitioner. I worked first in a community health center for the underserved and then at the University of California San Francisco Women's Health Center. At UCSF, I provided preventive care to male and female adults of diverse backgrounds while helping to manage and coordinate their acute and chronic illnesses.
I care deeply about helping patients understand their overall health, their medical conditions and choices they have in managing their health. I believe in informed decision making and partnering so that we can then create realistic and holistic health goals that fit your life. I am a firm believer in evidenced-based medicine, comprehensive primary healthcare and prevention. I take great pleasure in collaborating and I am always learning from the wisdom of my colleagues and patients.
I have always been drawn to stories of human experience and fascinated by the science of the human body. I became a Nurse Practitioner after a number of years in the performing arts in New York, where I am from, and was able to merge those two strong interests into one career. From a large family on the East Coast, I am a joyful mother of two daughters and a big black lab. In my free time, I love to get together with family, friends and dog to hike, ski, garden, be by the sea, dance, cook together and find fun spots to dine.

Reviewed on October 11, 2018 Best new to me provider I've seen in awhile (and I see a lot). Wasn't scared off by my med list and history. Not afraid to admit she needed to look up info. Actually listened and seemed genuinely interested in helping to improve my quality of life.
Reviewed on October 4, 2018 I trust & have confidence in Sarah.
Reviewed on August 9, 2019 Provider didn't realize I was pregnant until halfway through the visit. She prescribed a medication that isn't safe for breastfeeding, and I'm currently breastfeeding.
