Dr. Samuel Koo specializes in shoulder related problems. His training included a minimally invasive shoulder fellowship with Dr. Stephen Burkhart, a world renowned shoulder specialist. If you have a shoulder problem, whether it's simple or complex, Dr. Kim will likely have a solution for you. He is also involved in the development of shoulder specific products as well as novel treatment methods and techniques. One of the more exciting projects is evaluating the use of robotic technology for shoulder surgery.
My patient care philosophy is simple. I treat each patient as if I were caring for my wife and children. Family is exceedingly important to me so you can be assured you will be well cared for. This means surgery will not be recommended unless all non-operative solutions have been explored and exhausted. It also means, if surgery is required, you will receive the most cutting edge/up-to-date technology available to ensure the most optimal outcome.
Empathy is also a trait I value highly. Surgeons are not known for being empathetic and I feel this is quite unfortunate, because we are in the ideal position to support patients as they recover from difficult procedures. In my practice, your questions will be heard and answered promptly. By working together, focused on your goals, we can optimize the patient experience and maximize your health and wellbeing.
My wife and I grew up in the Seattle area, and I'm thrilled to be back and working in this beautiful city. We have three wonderful daughters who keep us busy and that is where most of my time outside the office is happily spent. I enjoy sports and most recently I have taken up tennis. I can't believe I didn't play this while I was younger. What a great way to exercise and have some fun.
