Experience
Dr. Paul Buehrens has more than 30 years of experience as a family physician caring for all ages. He also has a certificate of added qualifications in geriatric care. Dr. Buehrens is a longtime student of the health care industry, economics and insurance, having served as past medical director of his private practice and current medical director of the EvergreenHealth Partners network.
Philosophy
I partner with patients to enhance and maintain all the health each patient has, and try to restore health that has been lost, for any person of any age, over time and generations. Continuity of care enhances relationships, health, and reduces confusion, waste and unnecessary invasions by the health care system at the highest value and lowest cost. Primary care is first contact with the health care system for ANY problem short of a life threatening emergency. I provide up-to-date scientific information about diagnosis and treatment and do not hesitate to say "I don't know" or to refer when needed.
Personal Information
I have four kids from 29 to 17, two of mine, two of my wife's, that I love and care for. I'm devoted to my church community, and enjoy travel, fishing, skiing, jazz, family, vacations, work and a life of deepening my spirituality. I strive to be present in this moment, and to accept what I have, do what I can, and to be who I am. The journey is more important than the destination, for the future is not in my hands. And I'm a soccer fan!
In the Community
I'm a donor, a member of Eastshore Unitarian Church, and very involved in various health care organizations. My son Alex and I are in Boy Scouts together, and I belong to the Harvard Club locally, and the Faith Action Network.

I felt fortunate in the fact that this physician had just had an in-service on shoulder problems just 2 weeks prior to my appointment from a renowned shoulder specialists in the Seattle area. I felt confident in his prognosis and recommendations for healing my shoulder using reduction of inflammation and daily exercises.

Dr. Buehrens is the best family doctor I have ever had. His knowledge of general health, concern for my well being, and being able to explain things to me in a simple matter are all second to none.
