After working for in Family Medicine/Urgent Care, I enter the emerging field of Hospital Medicine in 1996 as one of the first four Physician Assistant Hospitalists in the state of Washington. I have worked in a variety of hospital settings. Through the years I have gained valuable knowledge regarding general medical and specialty care that is specific to hospitalized patients. Working in Hospital Medicine has allowed me to care for patients from all walks of life and I have met some amazing individuals and families.
I consider myself your partner in healthcare. I believe patient understanding and education around the particular illness that brought them into the hospital is critical for them to help guide their healthcare and to understand what is happening during their hospitalization.
I grew up knowing I would be a healthcare provider and after a number of years as a medical lab technician I finally had an opportunity to become a Physician Assistant. My work schedule allows me plenty of time to be home with my spouse and two young daughters. We like to travel and are always looking for a new travel experience to share. When not traveling I find myself working in the backyard, reading or checking out the latest movies.
