Over my years of seeing Dr. Portelance, I've generally appreciated his tendency to avoid excessive responses (e.g. prescriptions, referrals) for various conditions or concerns. On occasion, however, I would have preferred a somewhat more active approach to more aggressively address a symptom (e.g. severe neck pain/immobility, when I probably should have been referred to a massage/physical therapist vs. just getting a prescription for a muscle relaxant).
