Board Certified in Family Medicine, Sports Medicine
When I was young, I dreamed of being a sportswriter, a naval officer and a doctor. I majored in journalism at the University of Oklahoma where I was sports editor of the college newspaper and also freelanced for newspapers and wire services. I earned a Naval Reserve Officer Training (NROTC) Corps scholarship and served on active duty as a lieutenant. After graduating from the Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Tulsa, I was selected for the first primary care sports medicine fellowship in the United States (at The Sports Medicine Clinic in Seattle).
I have served as team physician for several area high schools, Seattle Pacific University, Seattle University, the Falcon Track Club, the Everett Giants minor league baseball team, the Unlimited Hydroplane Commission, the USA Track and Field Team and as a volunteer physician for the United States Olympic Team (most recently at the 2012 London Olympics).

I fly all over the world to participate as a physician for Olympic trials in field and track.
