Hospitalist: coordinating care for a broad range of medical issues in adults that require inpatient hospitalization for their acute illnesses or exacerbations of chronic disease.
Board Certified in Internal Medicine
Dr. Amrit Lamba is an experienced hospitalist, caring for patients both independently and collaborating with other physicians.
I feel a complete sense of ownership and responsibility for the medical care of patients and want to do what I believe is best for them and their families. However, I also value autonomy and the people doing what works best for everything that is going on in their lives, including that which occurs outside of hospital walls and the medical clinics. I see myself as patient advocate that provides all of the information in a given situation, so that we can work together to make the best possible decision that fits each individual and their family. This style allows for mutual respect and for ownership of the treatment plan. I am here to help, in any way that I can.
Medicine was an early choice for me through witnessing my mother?s day-to-day work as a primary care physician in Kent, WA. I recall early experiences of appreciation for those that she helped serve daily and the joy she received from assisting people in periods of great vulnerability. That made me also want to spend my time providing comfort and compassion to people during their most challenging moments. I believe the Pacific Northwest is a fantastic backdrop for a medical professional and offers a great sense of community. It is exciting to provide medical care for a patient at work and then encounter them enjoying the outdoors through hiking, biking and skiing. I love to stay active and playing sports is my favorite way to do so. Playing basketball is my favorite but I am eager to jump into any friendly competition.
