Diagnosing Back Pain

An effective treatment plan must begin with the correct diagnosis – that's why we focus on finding the cause of your spine, back or neck pain.

Sometimes the cause can be seemingly unrelated problems, such as nerve issues or even a hip or knee problem.

We offer a wide range of diagnostic exams, tests and advanced procedures to determine the cause of your back pain.

In-depth Examination

An in-depth examination will be the first step toward getting you back to doing what you love.

This will include:

Comprehensive physical examination and health history, including a review of your daily functions, activities, sleeping habits and any other factors that may be contributing to your pain.

Electrodiagnostic testing (including electromyography and nerve conduction studies) records and analyzes the electrical signals in your muscles and nerves to help your doctor diagnose issues that may be causing your pain.

Imaging, including x-ray, MRI and ultrasound, provide high-resolution images of joints, tissues and the spine. Diagnostic ultrasound can even spot problems while you're in motion.

Diagnostic injections to help physicians pinpoint the source of your pain.
