Kirkland, Wash. – EvergreenHealth Orthopedic Care recently welcomed Roxanne Horwath, PA-C, to its team of skilled providers in Kirkland, Washington.
Horwath is a board-certified physician assistant and athletic trainer. She has extensive experience in orthopedics and sports medicine. In her practice, Horwath treats a variety of trauma, sports medicine and general orthopedics patients. Specifically, she works with patients who have shoulder-specific injuries or health concerns.
“We’re so excited to welcome Roxanne to our compassionate orthopedic care team,” said Aileen Mickey, MD, FCCP, chief administrative officer of EvergreenHealth Medical Group. Her experience and personal connection to sports medicine will allow our health system to continue to provide absolute safe and high-quality care to our growing community.”
According to Horwath, her goal as an orthopedic physician assistant is to listen, provide compassionate care and help patients achieve their individualized goals. She believes that honest communication and patient-provider collaboration are some of the most important aspects of her care. Being an athlete herself and throughout her childhood, Horwath prides herself on uniquely connecting and understanding her patients’ wants and health needs.
After earning her athletic training degree, Horwath worked as an athletic trainer in a variety of collegiate sports. She was also part of the medical team that provided coverage to summer, winter and international X Games’ athletes. Wanting to move into the field of orthopedics and sports medicine, Horwath completed her physician assistant training and residency and moved to Seattle.
From a young age Horwath led an active lifestyle, playing a variety of sports and dealing with her fair share of injuries. She finds that her personal experience allows her to relate to her patients and what contributed to her career choice.
Outside of the health system, Horwath enjoys walking, running, hiking and paddle boarding with her dog. She can also be found exploring Seattle’s food scene and giving into her weakness for ice cream.
