Kirkland, Wash. – EvergreenHealth Geriatric Care recently welcomed Marissa Black, MD, to its team of compassionate providers on its Kirkland campus.
Dr. Black is board-certified in internal medicine and geriatric medicine, with clinical expertise in polypharmacy, multimorbidity, osteoporosis, frailty, weight loss, incontinence and falls.
“We are pleased to welcome Dr. Marissa Black to our Geriatric Care team,” said Aileen Mickey, MD, FCCP, chief medical officer of EvergreenHealth Medical Group. “She is committed to helping her patients achieve their health goals by working side by side with them every step of the way, which aligns with our values and approach to patient care.”
Dr. Black supports her patients in every way she can, using a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach to create care plans that fit their unique health needs. Her experience providing after-hours house calls for patients with limited access to care informed her philosophy that treating patients holistically improves their quality of life.
Dr. Black is board-certified in internal medicine and geriatric medicine. She attended medical school at Tulane University School of Medicine before completing her internship, residency and fellowship at the University of Washington Department of Medicine.
Having grown up on the East Coast, Dr. Black enjoys exploring all that the Pacific Northwest has to offer. In her free time, she takes advantage of outdoor activities, shops at her local farmers market and spends time with her husband and toddler.
EvergreenHealth Geriatric Care cares for senior patients ages 65 years and older who have complex medical needs and seek to improve their daily function and quality of life, while maintaining independence. The experienced geriatric team collaborates with patients and their families to identify patients’ health needs, set goals and develop treatment plans that best fit their lifestyles.
