Kirkland, Wash. – Eric Harris, MD, FACS, recently joined EvergreenHealth Weight Loss & Bariatric Care as a board-certified surgeon.
Dr. Harris treats adults with general, bariatric and cosmetic surgical procedures, including laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgeries. He also has clinical expertise in post-bariatric body contouring.
Dr. Harris has been practicing medicine since 2002 and views patient care as a partnership, ensuring that his patients have all the information about their care options so they can work together to make an informed decision about their treatment plans. He is committed to helping patients feel comfortable and respected, which enables him to better understand their questions, concerns and expectations as their partner in health care.
“Dr. Eric Harris is a skilled surgeon with a wide array of experience, and we are excited to welcome him to our Weight Loss and Bariatric Care team,” said Aileen Mickey, MD, FCCP, chief medical officer of EvergreenHealth Medical Group. “His values align with our purpose to enhance the health and well-being of every life we touch, and those we serve will benefit from his patient-centered approach to care.”
After he completed a five-year residency in general surgery at the Mayo Clinic, Dr. Harris practiced in rural Idaho for eight years treating a variety of surgical disorders. During that time, cosmetic surgery piqued his interest and he refined his techniques in body contouring and liposuction. In 2011, Dr. Harris completed a year-long fellowship in cosmetic surgery and joined the Puget Sound Surgical Center, where he further developed his expertise in bariatric surgery and post-bariatric body contouring.
Dr. Harris is certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery. He is a fellow at the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.
When he’s not practicing medicine, Dr. Harris is busy spending time with his five children. He also enjoys fishing, running and hiking.
