Kirkland, Wash. – EvergreenHealth recently welcomed Rebecca Managan, CNM, ARNP, to its Midwifery Care team in Kirkland, where she joins a group of board-certified midwives who partner with women to provide a personalized birthing experience.
As a certified nurse midwife (CNM), Managan couples her clinical background with personalized and compassionate care, while educating her patients about pregnancy and childbirth. She enjoys that midwifery care enables her to provide care to women and their families, while empowering them to make the best choices for themselves and their new family.
“We are pleased to welcome Rebecca to EvergreenHealth Midwifery Care,” said Aileen Mickey, MD, FCCP, chief medical officer of EvergreenHealth Medical Group. “Her patient-centered approach and years of experience in the delivery room will greatly benefit new mothers within our growing community, who seek high quality, low-intervention birth experiences in a safe and welcoming environment.”
Prior to becoming a certified nurse midwife, Managan served as a labor and delivery nurse for six years. As a midwife, she enjoys being able to work with women during such an important life event and strives to make it a positive experience for all involved.
Managan earned her certification in midwifery from the University of Washington. She is an active member of the American College of Nurse Midwives and in her free time enjoys hiking, gardening and spending time with her family.
EvergreenHealth Midwifery Care provides comprehensive care for expecting mothers and their families. In addition to support in the delivery room, board-certified midwives attend prenatal visits with the family, order diagnostic procedures when appropriate, and can offer a host of pain relief options for childbirth, such as massages, use of a tub or epidural anesthesia.
Welcoming new providers is one of many ways EvergreenHealth is thoughtfully expanding alongside the growing community. As part of its 15-year Master Facilities Plan, the health system is keeping pace with the community’s growth by upgrading its facilities and infrastructure to ensure its ability to provide care in the safest environment.
