Becker’s Hospital Review Names Health System to “100 Great Community Hospitals” List for Third Consecutive Year
Kirkland, Wash. – Becker’s Hospital Review has recognized EvergreenHealth on its 2018 list of “100 Great Community Hospitals,” honoring the health system for the third year in a row for being a vital part of its community by providing quality care, safety and service to patients across the Eastside. It is one of only two health systems in Washington to be named to the list.
Becker’s Hospital Review evaluates independent community hospitals across the nation, as well as facilities affiliated with large health systems, based on their proven quality of care, operational excellence and economic impact on surrounding areas. The publication’s editorial team considered key awards, rankings and certifications, as well as reputation for leadership and innovation, when selecting this year’s finalists.
“We are honored to be recognized once again for our commitment to providing care to our local community. Being a Top Community Hospital is an especially meaningful honor as it reflects our purpose to enrich the health and well-being of all those we serve,” said EvergreenHealth CEO Bob Malte. “We have a 46-year history of serving patients and families here on the Eastside, and we look forward to delivering high-quality health care and services to more families as our community continues to grow.”
Becker’s Hospital Review defines a community hospital as one with fewer than 550 beds and with minimal teaching programs. Along with EvergreenHealth, Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles was the only other organization in Washington to be named as a Great Community Hospital for 2018.
EvergreenHealth, with its network of two hospitals, staff of 5,000, 950 physician partners, 13 primary care clinics, five urgent care centers, home care and 24-hour Nurse Navigator & Healthline, has also been recognized among the top two percent hospitals in the nation by Healthgrades.
