Kirkland, Wash. – EvergreenHealth is proud to announce the recipients of its most recent DAISY Award. The DAISY Award is a recognition bestowed quarterly by EvergreenHealth to commend nurses who exceed expectations for demonstrating remarkable care, clinical skills and compassion for their patients.

Recipients include:

  • Nikki Dullum, RN, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
  • Tessa Pavey, RN, Oncology
  • Roxanne Raubacher, RN, Redmond Emergency Department

“The DAISY Award recognizes nurses who embody EvergreenHealth’s core value of compassion, who go above and beyond to deliver high-quality care,” said Bob Malte, CEO of EvergreenHealth. “By building connections with patients and their families, our providers are able to help our patients achieve even better health outcomes.”

Dullum was recognized by colleague, Maia Boyd, RN, for her work in the NICU. As the night shift nurse for Boyd’s newborn baby boy, Dullum was extremely supportive, empathetic and responsive to Boyd’s needs for lactation consultation. The support she provided gave Boyd confidence to thrive as a new mother.

Dr. Daniel Moore nominated Pavey for the extraordinary compassion and care she delivered for two patients with end-stage cancer. In the families’ time of grief and sadness, she provided comfort and reassurance.

Raubacher received the DAISY Award as the result of life-saving actions she took for her neighbor and friend. When she noticed her friend was having trouble breathing during a coffee meeting, Raubacher insisted that she see a cardiologist at EvergreenHealth immediately. An echocardiogram revealed severe mitral valve regurgitation, leading to open heart surgery within two months and saving her friend’s life.

EvergreenHealth invites patients and visiting families to submit nominations year-round to recognize the nurses who make their visits to EvergreenHealth memorable. Additionally, providers who witness extraordinary acts are invited to nominate their peers. DAISY Award recipients are honored by colleagues and patients during a ceremony in their care units each quarter.
