Kirkland, Wash. – EvergreenHealth is pleased to welcome pain medicine physician Dr. Jennifer Lee to the EvergreenHealth Pain Care team.
Dr. Lee is board-certified in both pain medicine and anesthesiology, and comes to the Kirkland-based health system with specialized experience in epidural injections, facet joint injections, neurolytic blocks, spinal cord stimulators, and medication management with an emphasis on non-opioid options. As a leader in her practice area, Dr. Lee’s clinical research has been featured in a number of scholarly publications.
“With the development of new drugs, devices and treatments, pain management is highly individualized to each patient’s needs, which is a philosophy embraced by providers, staff and volunteers at EvergreenHealth Pain Care,” said Bob Malte, EvergreenHealth CEO. “Dr. Lee’s hands-on clinical experience, coupled with her background in research and instruction, makes for a perfect addition to our team of pain medicine experts.”
A lifelong resident of the Northwest, Dr. Lee began her career as an acting instructor at Seattle Children's, and later as faculty in pain management at Swedish Medical Center. There, she had the opportunity to focus on adult patients, initiating a Ketamine infusion program. Dr. Lee also taught ultrasound-guided interventional procedures to other doctors through the World Association for Ultrasound in Pain Medicine for several years, and has actively contributed to committees aiming to standardize and optimize care pathways for chronic low back pain.
With a passion for science and helping people, Dr. Lee believes medicine was always a natural career choice. She earned her medical degree from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, before returning to Seattle to serve as a medical intern at Virginia Mason Medical Center. She completed a fellowship in sports medicine pain management, and her residency in anesthesiology at the University of Washington Medical Center.
Dr. Lee believes successful chronic pain treatment requires a thoughtful, personalized approach to effectively treat a patient's condition. She partners with patients to design a treatment plan that will be safe and effective for them now and in the future. Her overall goal is to offer procedures, therapies and necessary medicines to help improve the quality of life for patients, allowing them to free themselves of pain and become less reliant on health care services.
EvergreenHealth’s pain management team operates under a multidisciplinary approach, working with specialists from many different medical fields to ensure that treatment plans are catered to each patient’s specific needs.
