The health system’s new care unit adds 31 beds and state-of-the-art patient-care technology
Kirkland, Wash. – EvergreenHealth is pleased to announce the opening of a new Cardiovascular & Neurosurgical Care unit on the fifth floor of the Silver tower on its Kirkland campus. The opening of the new unit signals another completed step in the organization’s strategic growth plan and follows the recent addition of a Progressive Care Unit on the tower’s fourth floor last month.
The new 31-bed unit brings the latest in patient-care technologies and state-of-the-art design for patients receiving critical care and treatment while recovering from cardiovascular and neurosurgical procedures. Along with offering the highest standards of care and outstanding patient amenities, the unit creates an environment of care that promotes well-being, service and safety for patients, families and caregivers.
“Together with the Progressive Care Unit, our new Cardiovascular & Neurosurgical Care unit plays a critical role in meeting the needs of our growing community,” said EvergreenHealth CEO Bob Malte. “We are grateful to the many providers, staff, volunteers, engineers, designers, contractors and others whose vision and input have created an exemplary experience for our patients and their families.”
Both floors are part of EvergreenHealth’s 10-year Master Facility Plan approved by the organization’s Board of Commissioners in July 2015 to promote growth that enables EvergreenHealth to meet the community’s evolving health care needs.
Phase 1 of the plan continues through 2017 and includes several additional expansion efforts across the EvergreenHealth system. In Kirkland, the organization will open two new floors in the DeYoung Pavilion to house the EvergreenHealth Neuroscience, Spine & Orthopedics Institute.
The plan also expands the health system’s network of primary care practices with the opening of a new primary and urgent care center in Mill Creek later this year. Finally in the fall, EvergreenHealth will celebrate the grand opening of its expanded Kenmore primary care practice, which will relocate to a new 20,000-square-foot mixed-use space in the LINQ at Spencer Square development.
