After Treatment Care for Lung Cancer

Tracking your progress

At the conclusion of your treatment, you'll return for periodic imaging scans and blood work, depending on your treatment regimen.

If you have breathing issues, you'll remain under the care of your pulmonologist.

Continued support after your lung cancer treatment

Your nurse navigator's support doesn’t stop when your treatment ends.

She will provide you with resources on living after lung cancer treatment, and give you information on healthy lifestyle changes to help avoid a recurrence.

You'll also have your navigator's phone number and email, so you can ask questions or if you just need to talk.

Survivorship plan

Your navigator will also provide you with a survivorship care plan. This document is a comprehensive summary of your treatment, with start and stop dates, names of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and gene therapy drugs used and all of your provider information.

This is a great summary to give to your primary care provider for your medical record and to keep on hand should you need to see a doctor while traveling. Instead of trying to remember your treatment details, it’ll all be in your survivorship care plan document.
