America's 100 Best Specialty Care Hospitals (2026)

(Awarded by Healthgrades) EvergreenHealth is the only hospital in the Pacific Northwest (Washington, Oregon and Idaho) to receive the Pulmonary Care Excellence Award™ for 16 consecutive years (2011-2026), the America's 100 Best Hospitals for Gastrointestinal Care for 13 years in a row (2014-2026) and the Surgical Care Excellence Award—new in 2026!

Magnet Recognition (2026)

(Awarded by American Nurses Credentialing Center) EvergreenHealth has achieved Magnet Recognition from the American Nurses Credentialing Center for demonstrating our commitment to supporting our nursing staff as well as providing the highest-quality care for our patients.

425 Magazine's Best Hospital (2025)

EvergreenHealth Medical Center was voted the Best Hospital in 425 Magazine's annual "Best of 425" online poll. The recognition reflects the exceptional care that our more than 5,000 employees deliver every day.

Best in the PNW (2025)

(Awarded by The Seattle Times) EvergreenHealth has earned the Gold recognition for Hospital in the Seattle Times' Best in the PNW awards. This recognition is based on nominations and votes from our community members across the Puget Sound region.

'A' Rating for Hospital Safety (Fall 2025)

(Awarded by The Leapfrog Group) EvergreenHealth has received its fourteenth consecutive "A" rating for hospital safety, seven years in a row, in recognition of our commitment to protecting patients from preventable errors, accidents and infections. Hospitals that receive an "A" grade prioritize patient safety and minimize medical harm.

Recognized Leader in Caring for People Living With Diabetes (2025)

(Awarded by The Leapfrog Group) EvergreenHealth has been named a Recognized Leader in Caring for People Living with Diabetes by The Leapfrog Group. EvergreenHealth is one of just 33 hospitals nationwide recognized for inpatient diabetes care, now for two years in a row.

CMS Compare 5-Star Rating (2025)

(Awarded by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) EvergreenHealth is one of just nine hospitals in the Puget Sound region–and one of just 291 hospitals nationwide–to earn a 2025 5-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) based on our high scores for patient safety and outcomes, now for ten years in a row.

Joy in Medicine Program - Bronze Level (2025)

(Awarded by American Medical Association) EvergreenHealth has been awarded with its second Bronze Level Recognition in the American Medical Association's Joy in Medicine™ Health System Recognition Program.

2024 Awards

Top 100 Community Hospitals in the Country (2024)

(Awarded by Becker's Hospital Review) EvergreenHealth Medical Center has been named among the nation's top 100 great community hospitals for 2024. This recognition was based on nominations and multiple rankings and ratings organizations.

Center of Excellence - Total Joint Program (2023) & Orthopedic Surgery (2024)

(Awarded by DNV) EvergreenHealth's Total Joint Program (2023) and Orthopedic Surgery Program (2024) have been recognized as Centers of Excellence by Det Norske Veritas (DNV). The Orthopedic Surgery Program is the only program in the Pacific Northwest region to receive this distinction, and the Total Joint Program was the first in Washington state to receive this designation.

2023 Awards

Partner for Change (2023)

(Awarded by Practice Greenhealth) EvergreenHealth is recognized for its outstanding achievements in environmental practices to supercharge operational efficiency, increase regulatory compliance and improve the health of their communities. This is the 14th out of the past 15 years for this award.

2022 Awards

Best Hospital in U.S. for Clinical Outcomes (2022)

(Awarded by the Lown Institute) EvergreenHealth ranks number one in the nation for Clinical Outcomes. EvergreenHealth came in first among more than 3,600 hospitals nationwide for its excellence in patient safety and patient satisfaction.

Comprehensive Stroke Center (2022)

(Awarded by DNV Healthcare) EvergreenHealth Stroke Care has earned the Comprehensive Stroke Center certification from DNV Healthcare, recognizing that EvergreenHealth meets the highest national standards for stroke care.

Other Awards

Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative

EvergreenHealth was the first hospital in the United States to be recognized as a Baby-Friendly Hospital, and the designation has been reviewed and renewed every five years since 1996. This is the gold standard of maternity care, awarded by UNICEF and the World Health Organization.

Community Service Award

Each year, EvergreenHealth's Board of Commissioners recognizes local individuals or organizations who have had a profound impact on enhancing the community's health. Honorees have included dedicated volunteers, health care activists and physicians.
